ABOUT US

The Shawbury Village Players is an amateur drama group formed in 1979, based in the village of Shawbury just north of Shrewsbury, but with members from all over Shropshire!

Our projects have included one, two and three act plays, musical hall revues, children’s plays, pantomimes, murder mysteries, writing our own festival entries and most ambitious of all, outdoor productions.

FAQ

Useful Information

Below you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our productions, membership, and more. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re always happy to help.

DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE?

Our productions and quizzes are open for everyone to attend, but to participate as a member of cast or crew for one of our productions, a membership is required for insurance purposes. Non-members are welcome to attend auditions for our shows, to get a feel for the group and each production, but will be required to join as a full member before they can attend rehearsals if they accept a part.

HOW OFTEN DOES SHAWBURY VILLAGE PLAYERS MEET?

As often as you'd like! To an extent anyway. During productions, rehearsals are twice a week, and you may be required as many rehearsals as possible if you have a large role. We try to limit the number of evening rehearsals that our under 18 cast members will be required at.

HOW DO I JOIN A MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Just come along to one of our auditions or get in touch with us on our Get Involved page!
